AOC get Triggered by fans, rants she’s not just promising “Free Stuff”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York’s 30-year-old socialist representative elected to Congress last year, voiced her frustration with critics who write off her policies, such as tuition-free college, “Medicare for all,” and expanding public housing as “handouts” or “free stuff” to rope in voters.
“It’s not that we deserve it because it’s a handout. People like to say, ‘Oh, this is about free stuff.’ This is not about free stuff,” Ocasio-Cortez said at a Bronx town hall over the weekend.

“These are public goods. They’re public goods. So I never want to hear the word or the term ‘free stuff’ ever again … because I’m tired of already hearing some of these neoliberal folks who are trying to like flip the script on us,” she declared.
Ocasio-Cortez then doubled down in a Twitter post, while sharing a video of her rant. She tweeted, “Public education, libraries, & infrastructure policies (which we‘ve had before in America and elsewhere in the world!) are not “free stuff.” They are PUBLIC GOODS. And they are worth investing in, protecting, & advancing for all society and future generations.”
Public education, libraries, & infrastructure policies (which we‘ve had before in America and elsewhere in the world!) are not “free stuff.”
They are PUBLIC GOODS.
And they are worth investing in, protecting, & advancing for all society and future generations.

Response from tweeter users ;
Hey middle class the fruits of your hard work belong to the gov’t and its up to an elected few to decide who’s worthy. This seems much WORSE than “free”

“Public goods” are free for some at the expense of others.
Saying they’re an “investment” is just another way of saying that the government gets to decide who should have the free stuff and who should pay for it. https://t.co/DoBwuUt8rK

Take a look everyone: “Free stuff” is “public goods”. @aoc has probably never taken an accounting class, or managed a budget. Call it whatever you want, it cannot exceed tax revenue, and you can’t just increase taxes without reprocussion, especially to buy free stuff. https://t.co/8PPI70uOzd
