President Trump on Thursday threatened to send the military to close its southern border if Mexico fails to stem the “onslaught” of migrants from Central America, in a series of tweets that blamed Democrats ahead of the midterm elections.
President Trump also dispatched U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to meet with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto in Mexico City on Friday, been 19th Oct 2018.
President Trump who has curtailed immigration and building a border wall on the Mexican border a key platform, has previously threatened to shut off aid and dispatch troops there.
More of Honduran migrants tried to join a caravan of several thousand trekking through Guatemala on Wednesday, defying calls by authorities not to make the journey. The caravan has been growing steadily since it left the violent Honduran city of San Pedro Sula on Saturday.
