Trump honors Conan the hero dog at white house

After weeks of Trump teasing a White House appearance, Conan, the dog who was injured during the raid that ended in ISIS leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi’s death, was honored in the Rose Garden on Monday.

“The dog is incredible,” Trump said while standing alongside Conan, Vice President Mike Pence, and first lady Melania Trump. He also called Conan “the ultimate fighter,” awarding the dog a service reward and certificate.

President Trump joked Conan is trained to attack if you open your mouth – and warns the press to be careful.

It is confirmed that Conan, a Belgian Malinois, is a veteran of over 50 missions. Trump had considered giving a Purple Heart to the canine, an honor granted to soldiers who were wounded or killed in battle.
