
US CYBERATTACK: RUSSIA, A SUSPECT NATION
President Joe Biden has stated that if Russia is discovered to be responsible for the hack on July 4, the US will respond.
Last Friday, shortly before the commencement of the Fourth of July weekend, the United States was hit by a huge cyberattack.
President Joe Biden stated that the US is unsure “who it is” at the moment, and that “initial thinking was it was not the Russian government.”
However, Biden stated that he has spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that the US will retaliate if Russia is determined to be responsible for the attack.
“But if it’s Russia, I told Putin we’ll respond,” Biden continued, referring to their dispute.
The cyberattack impacted at least 200 companies across the United States, according to Huntress Labs, a cyber-security outfit.
